I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
